Smokie Concert in Prague
The songs Don´t Play Your Rock 'n' Roll To Me, Living Next Door To Alice and Oh Carol are still hits, whose successful and persuasive melodies are in the ears of generations of listeners. Thanks to the popularity of radio stations, from whose playlists they never disappeared. On Saturday, February 21, 2015 in the Great Hall of Prague’s Lucerna concert hall, fans will be treated to the British glam rock legend Smokie. It is worth noting that in 2015 the band will celebrate 50 years since its founding and 40 years on the scene! The start of the program, which will be headlined by Smokie, is scheduled to start at 8 pm. The beginnings of Smokie date back exactly to the mid-60s, when in the yard of the grammar school in Bradford, in the British county of West Yorkshire, classmates Terry Uttley, Alan Silson and Chris Norman met to set up their first group, The Yen. A series of other variations of bands with different names like The Elizabethans or Kindness followed. The year 1975 brought a radical change and in conjunction with the producers Mike Chapman and Nick Chinn brought a flying start position on Hit Parade. The song If You Think You Know How To Love Me reached third place on the British charts and it sold millions of copies around the world.
