Parties in towns and mountain huts cannot do without sandwiches and champagne. If you plan to say goodbye to the old year in the maelstrom of the city, head to the Czech capital. The Municipal House has prepared a special New Year's Eve concert and the State opera offers a gala. We recommend visiting Letná park at midnight , there is a unique view of the city which will shine with fireworks from various districts. You can see the illuminated metropolis from the height of the Žižkov tower or you can sail on the Vltava River. New Year's fireworks will be shot off from Letná park on January 1 at 6 p.m. You should find your place on the bridges or waterfront sooner, and do not leave your metro ride for the last moment because you could miss the beauty of the sky. Restaurants mainly offer you legumes on New Year's day, so that everything will be plentiful in the coming months or piglet for good luck. On the contrary you won't find rabbit, poultry or fish on the menu because the luck could run, fly or swim away in the new year.
