For many years Ostrava has been the city of promising sports. It regularly hosts major international events for European and world championships, cups, tournaments and matches, and it has also won the prestigious title of European City of Sport 2014. Another celebration of sport is this year’s FIMBA European Championship in Old-Timers Basketball 2014. This competition features teams of excellent second and third-generation basketball players, i.e. women over thirty years old and men over thirty-five.
