This international music festival connects the works of the renowned composer to the places where he spent his childhood and youth. The festival was created in 2000, when in nearby Kalište u Humpolce the annual Mahler Festival commemorated the 140th anniversary of Mahler's birth. The concerts are held mainly in Jihlava at the Church of the Holy Cross and in the hall of the House of Culture. Part of the program is held in Kalište, Mahler’s birthplace. In addition to concerts, the program also includes theatrical performances, choir performances and screenings of documentary films with the Mahler theme.
