The medieval artistic culture of this unusually rich region was determined by the royal cities Klatovy, Sušice, Horažďovice and the major mining town Kašperské Hory. The exhibition at Sternberg Palace in Prague showcases a number of works of art and monuments that were created thanks to generous patrons: Late Gothic sculptures, illustrated books, rarely preserved collections from parish churches in Kašperské Hory and paintings by the Master of the Zvíkov Mourning, whose workshop was probably in southwest Bohemia.
