Exhibition of Jan Kotík at the Veletržní Palace in Prague
Jan Kotík (1916–2002) lived in Prague until 1969, then moved to West Berlin. He exhibited at World EXPOs (Paris 1937, Brussels 1958, Montreal 1967), at the Venice Biennale (1964 and 1976), and received the Fred Thieler prize for painting in Berlin in 1997. This retrospective exhibition prepared by the National Gallery at the Veletržní Palace includes paintings, installations, drawings, graphics, applied art and theoretical texts, both from the collections of public institutions and private collectors in the Czech Republic, Germany and the USA.
