Leoš Janáček is celebrating a significant anniversary
He came from a very poor background, but because he showed a talent for music from an early age, his parents sent him to a school for musically gifted children in Brno. This sealed the fate of composer Leoš Janáček, author of some of the most popular operas in the world. In addition to the anniversary of Bedřich Smetana, we are also celebrating Janáček’s anniversary this year: he was born in Hukvaldy on 3 July 1854. Which means that not only his famous Cunning Little Vixen will be brought to life at many top music festivals in Czechia.
