Czech artist chosen to fly into space

Japanese billionaire Jusaku Maezawa has announced the names of the eight crew members he wants to take on a trip around the moon. Among them is Czech choreographer, director, actor, visual artist, and performer Yemi A.D, who has also worked with Kanye West!

Yemi A.D., who lives in Prague, was born in Liberec to a Nigerian father and a Czech mother. He started his career as a dancer and choreographer, later as an actor, creative director and producer, communication strategist, social entrepreneur, and creative.

A star was born

He acted in several movies, including The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, and worked with Kanye West, among others, for whom he created and produced West's worldwide concerts, tours, and music videos. The artist is also the Czech Ambassador for the UN Sustainable Development Goals and was appointed Czech Goodwill Ambassador by the Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2019.

To the moon and back

In 2021, Yemi, along with a million other people from around the world, applied to join the crew of the private dearMoon mission. Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa is planning one for 2023 when he wants to orbit the moon in a giant spacecraft from Elon Musk's SpaceX.
