A Wedding in the Czech Republic? Why Not!
The Czech Republic, and the Capital City of Prague in particular, is a very romantic place. Rightly so. Old towns, views of rolling hills or crooked city streets paved with cobblestones will make your wedding day mystical and unique. We will recommend a few places that are most popular with Czech couples.

Your Big Day in Prague

Most couples who get married in Prague go for a pure classic. A wedding ceremony in the Gothic Old Town City Hall and a photo shoot with Old Town and Malá Strana in the background. You won’t regret it if you decide to do the same. Old Prague is very photogenic. A kiss on the banks of the Vltava River with Prague Castle or Charles Bridge in the background is a must that never gets old.

Almost everyone wants to get married in spring or summer. Therefore, you should book your wedding day a long time ahead – especially at the Old Town City Hall. The gardens below Prague Castle are also great for a wedding ceremony. The views are amazing. For example, the Baroque Vrtbovská garden is considered to be one of the most photogenic spots for weddings.

We have a tip for you. Petřín hill, right next to Prague Castle, has always belonged to those in love. There is an orchard with fruit trees that bloom from the end of March to mid-April. And a kiss under a cherry tree in bloom allegedly brings love and happiness!

If you decide to get married in Prague, you will definitely want to invite your guests for good food and drinks. This is not a problem in Prague. There are restaurants that have been awarded Michelin stars as well as restaurants mentioned in the Michelin guide. You can choose a menu to your liking. However, an original Czech wedding menu is also worth trying. It includes a starter in the form of Prague ham with horseradish dip, a beef broth with liver dumplings and a sirloin sauce with dumplings. As a desert, have a hot apple strudel with cinnamon or fresh poppy seed pastry. A traditional Czech menu should be accompanied by Czech and Moravian wine. An experienced sommelier will help you choose. Czech white wines are well known. You might be surprised with their quality.

Wedding at a Chateau

There are many chateaux beyond the borders of the capital that specialise in organising weddings. If you want something unusual, check them out – you will not be disappointed!

Mcely Chateau

Mcely Chateau, which was recently reconstructed thanks to the hard work of the owners, is close to Prague and it is currently one of the most popular places for weddings. A romantic wedding ceremony in its interior or the chateau park is unforgettable. Mcely Chateau also offers top-quality gastronomy and luxurious hotel accommodation for your guests. In short, luxurious comfort in a neo-classical romantic style.

Třebešice Chateau

Třebešice Chateau was also saved at the very last moment after many years of devastation. It is a small rural Renaissance chateau with a farm near Kutná Hora, a place under UNESCO protection. If you prefer a small, modern and eclectic wedding, Třebešice is the right choice. The chateau offers stylish accommodation and catering tailored to your needs.

Hluboká nad Vltavou Chateau

The South Bohemian chateau in Hluboká nad Vltavou is a gem among Czech chateaux. Its current romantic look was created during a reconstruction in the 19th century. A wedding in the chateau and a photo shoot in the adjacent landscaped garden is very popular. The people at the chateau are prepared to fulfil almost any wish.

Herálec Hotel

In Vysočina, near Jihlava, is Herálec Chateau, which is currently used as a hotel, although it is not a regular hotel. In 2015 it was voted the sixth Best Smallest Hotel by TripAdvisor and one of the ten best chateau hotels in the world. A wedding and a stay at Herálec is unforgettable.
