Olomouc Region: A Perfect Destination for History Lovers
Breathtaking UNESCO landmarks, romantic castles, and chateaux, as well as stunning natural beauty – all of this can be seen and experienced in the Olomouc Region. Located in the eastern part of Czechia, it is easily accessible both by car and train.

Olomouc: A City Full of History and Cafés

The heart of the region is the university city of Olomouc, whose historic centre is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As you approach the city, the silhouette of the pilgrimage site Svatý Kopeček greets you from afar. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of charming streets lined with cosy cafés. A stroll across the Upper Square takes you to the beautiful astronomical clock and baroque fountains that lend the city its unique charm.

In the region, we recommend visiting the fairytale-like Bouzov Castle. Not far away are the Javoříčko Caves, featuring stunning stalactite formations. Helfštýn Castle, on the other hand, boasts a unique blend of medieval and modern architecture – a venue for various events, including a showcase of top artistic blacksmiths. A visit to Helfštýn is definitely worth it!

Jeseníky: Nature and Spas

Nature lovers can head from Olomouc to the Jeseníky Mountains. In addition to breathtaking viewpoints and mysterious caves, be sure to visit the unique handmade paper mill in Velké Losiny. Peace and relaxation await you in the local spas, the most famous of which are Karlova Studánka Spa and Lázně Jeseník Spa.

Our tip! If you visit the Olomouc Region, be sure to try one of the most famous local specialities – Olomoucké syrečky (Olomouc ripened cheese).
