Prague: Two new museums and the return of the Slav Epic
The collection of more than 600 historical posters will be exhibited in a newly opened museum in Prague. In another newly opened museum – the Museum of Senses – you can try out various experiments and optical illusions.

The Slav Epic

The series of paintings called the Slav Epic made by the world-famous painter Alfons Mucha will return to Prague in mid-June. This work of art summarises the history of the Czech nation and other Slavic nations. A part of the series will be exhibited in the Municipal House on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Czechoslovakia.

Czech Poster Museum

Over the course of American Glenn Spicker’s thirty years in Prague, he has built a collection of posters that date between 1897 and 1989. The collection, numbering over 600 items, has been on display since December 2017 . In addition to posters created by anonymous artists, there’s also a number of posters by famous names such as Josef Lada, Václav Pata, and Viktor Oliva. In October 2018, the temporary shows will be replaced by a permanent exhibition of posters promoting such things as Communist holidays, engineering products and trade fairs, as well as the beauty of Czechoslovakia.

Museum of Senses

Set off on an entertaining journey to learn more about your own senses and discover those you had no idea even existed. Through experiments and optical illusions, you’ll understand how the human brain works and how easy it is to fool it. The exhibition, which you yourself will become part of during your visit, is suitable for both adults and children.
