To calculate the best spots for solo travelers, the study based its methodology on six aspects: safety rates, the average cost of a hotel per night, the number of available group activities, the amount of attractions, the price of one-way public transport ticket, and the general friendliness of the city.
Strong on safety, friendliness, and transport
Taking all these variables into account, Prague received the second-highest score of 4.6 out of 5, with only the Japanese capital of Tokyo ranked higher. Prague performed especially well in its safety category; indeed, on data aggregator Numbeo, Prague boasts a safety index of 75.39 – among the highest out of all cities in Europe. Earlier this year in a separate study, the Czech capital was ranked Europe's safest city for travelers.
